Rural Media CompanyThe Rural Media Company is researching the housing and financial challenges faced by older people living in rurally isolated areas of the UK. The research will identify achievable solutions for ways to improve life for this group of older people. Rural Media Company has expertise in innovative methods of communicating its research findings. The charity will produce a documentary film at the end of the study, which will be shown to policymakers and key opinion formers in the hope of bringing about positive change. They will also produce a 15 minute drama for television broadcast to raise awareness of the realities of retiring in a rural area, where there is often limited access to care services, where public transport is limited and where older people are more likely to live in fuel poverty. This project is being delivered in partnership with ACRE, Age UK, Age Concern West Midlands and Age Concern Hereford.
