The people we’re trying to help

We define people in housing need as those whose housing circumstances put them at an increased risk of harm and disadvantage. The negative impact and consequences of their inadequate housing mean that these people are in charitable need.

People in housing need are particularly at risk of:

  • Homelessness
  • Poverty
  • Poor physical and mental health
  • Detrimental impact on education and employment prospects
  • Physical injury and harm.

Essentially, we consider people in housing need as those who don’t have the opportunity or means to live in a home that we define as decent or affordable.
