The Nationwide Foundation commended for its excellence in grant-making strategy

The Nationwide Foundation has been commended as a finalist in the Directory of Social Change (DSC) Awards 2013. The awards event celebrated best practice in the charity and not for profit sector. The Nationwide Foundation was shortlisted as one of three finalists in the category of the Great Giving Funders Award. The winner was decided by a public vote and the Nationwide Foundation is very grateful to everyone who voted.

The award submission was for work the Foundation carried out to help vulnerable people affected by financial exclusion, financial abuse, housing problems and debt. In particular, it helped beneficiaries to decrease their debts and maximise their incomes, collectively, by almost £3 million.

The Nationwide Foundation demonstrated to the short-listing judging panel that it improved grant-making by giving clear guidance and support to charities. The Foundation also showed how it works with grant applicants to address concerns and respond to changing needs in the wider environment. The award submission is for the Foundation’s work on the grant-making strategy, Money Matters, Homes Matter, Families Matter which ended in April this year.
